And another “devastating” day of a shortage of safe drinking water, AOC raises more money, fueling a white evangelical movement, complex mental tasks, new testimony, inspecting Boeing 777s, and malware on Macs comes to a close:

Disinformation Fuels A White Evangelical Movement. It Led 1 Virginia Pastor To Quit. On its website, the Patriot Church is described as a movement: "a church interceding on behalf of her nation." That movement has a name: Christian nationalism. Some conservative evangelical circles have incubated and spread these kinds of conspiracy theories — some of which have led to violence – for years. Andrew Whitehead, who has spent several years researching Christian nationalism at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, defines it as the belief that America is a Christian nation, one that should privilege white, native-born politically conservative Christians.
People with extremist views less able to do complex mental tasks, research suggests. A key finding was that people with extremist attitudes tended to think about the world in black and white terms, and struggled with complex tasks that required intricate mental steps, said lead author Dr Leor Zmigrod at Cambridge’s department of psychology.
Almost half of Republicans would join Trump party: poll. A Suffolk University-USA Today poll found that 46 percent of Republicans said they would abandon the GOP and join the Trump party if the former president decided to create one. Only 27 percent said they would stay with the GOP, with the remainder indicating they would be undecided.
It's time to redraw America's voting maps. Where's the data? Voting rights advocates are sounding the alarm over Census delays they say will make the process of redistricting harder and gerrymandering easier. The political implications are potentially enormous. The Democratic Party currently controls both chambers of Congress, as well as the White House, but Republicans control far more of the redistricting process that could decide who returns to Washington after the 2022 midterms. This is because Republicans control the majority of state legislatures, where the bulk of the map drawing happens.
