And another day of culture wars straining the relationship between Republicans and corporate America, requiring vaccinations for students, cheating donors out of money, a salmonella outbreak, and a five-minute breast cancer treatment comes to a close:

Culture wars strain once unshakeable bond between Republicans, corporate America. Such public dust-ups between businesses and members of the GOP are becoming more frequent, though the divide — possibly one of the most consequential in U.S. politics and society — is years in the making. The shift is the product of a Republican Party increasingly driven by "culture war" issues that animate a base invigorated by Trump and corporate powerhouses that are under more pressure than ever to align themselves with the left on voting rights, LGBTQ rights and anti-racist efforts.

Michigan adds more than 8,400 new Covid-19 cases in one day, the most since December.

Cornell intends to require vaccination for students returning to Ithaca, Geneva, and Cornell Tech campuses for the fall semester.

The Trump campaign reportedly cheated donors who thought they were making a one-time contribution, collecting recurring donations. In what seemed to be an effort to bolster political contributions in the heat of the 2020 election against now President Joe Biden, the Trump 2020 campaign reportedly duped supporters into making recurring donations without their explicit or known consent. — Wow. Just wow at what they did. The gall. The sheer disrespect for his supporters. And most of his supporters didn’t even seem to care. Disgusting all the way around.

'A life-changer': NHS England rolls out five-minute breast cancer treatment.

Salmonella outbreak that has sickened 19 people in eight states linked to wild songbirds, CDC says.
